This November 3rd, 2007 will mark the third annual Fall Folio Feast for the Maine Illustrators’ Collective (MEIC). The purpose of the Fall Folio Feast is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where art buyers and illustrators can initiate working relationships. New England illustrators from various fields, including children’s publishing, will display their portfolios in Portland, Maine at Space Gallery from 10-2 pm.

Chris Van Dusen will be our keynote this year. Chris is the illustrator of Kate DiCamillo’s Mercy the Pig books (Candlewick) and is the author & illustrator of the Mr. McGee books (Chronicle) and If I Built a Car (Dutton). Chris has also illustrated for Girl’s Life, LA Times, Nickelodian, Time for Kids, L.L. Bean and Barnum and Bailey Circus.

The Maine Illustrator’s Collective (MEIC) is an informal collective of illustrators meeting in Portland every last Wednesday of the month. We brain storm, critique new work, give support, share ideas, and offer advice on promoting each other’s work. Visit our "Members" page to see our work.

We are accepting registration from illustrators for forty spaces in the portfolio showcase. Please click here for more information.

Art buyers from the New England area are invited to attend this Saturday event free of charge. Art directors from Candlewick Press, Charlesbridge, Family Fun Magazine and Curious City Books have already confirmed a spot at the Fall Folio Feast. MEIC will provide parking for all art buyers as well as lodging for interested out-of-town art buyers until September 1st. Please contact us at MEillustrators at aol dot com
