Bandoleros is Koldo Barroso’s latest children illustration. It was inspired by the mountains where the artist lives in Spain, in an area in the rocky mountains called La Pedriza. This is a very popular place where lots of people go from all over the country for hiking. The place is related to local legends surrounding about the famous bandits -bandoleros- in the 18th century who would escape from Madrid when in danger and have their hidden dens amongst the rocks. The most well-known one was Luis Candelas. You can read more about it at Koldo Barroso’s web site.
