Kelly Murphy’s seventh picture book entitled Gallop O’ Gallop (Dial Book for Young Readers), written by Sandra Alonzo is released on April 5th, 2007. After painting horses for over one year, Kelly was a bit fed up with the foor legged lugs, but after some time spent apart, they’ve mended their rift and hope you too will embrace the horse dork in you! Earlier this year, Fiona’s Luck (Charlesbridge), written by Teresa Bateman, was also realeased. Check all her books out here!

I’d love to let everyone know about an upcoming charity to benefit cute, fuzzy animals! The Pet Project is an illustration show and charitable online auction with a unique twist. Each of the 29 illustrators involved have chosen their favorite charity or ‘pet project’ for their illustration’s bidding to benefit. I have donated The Remembering Stone to benefit The Rhode Island SPCA. Illustrators include Grace Lin, Kevin Hawkes, Melissa Sweet, Peter Brown, and Wade Zahares.
The auction opens on October 5th, 2006 and runs through October 15th, 2006. The auction will be hosted on eBay. If you would like to be alerted when the auction opens, enter your email address at The Pet Project Website. Bid away my pretties!

Kelmurphy is honored to be included in the Little Chimp Society, and promises to be behaved, restraining herself from fits of raspberry noises and smoking cigarettes for loose change. Kelly has been a freelance illustrator for the last 7 years, mainly concentrated in the children’s market. She is now viciously preparing for an assault (a slow assault at that) in the world of animtion and character design. She currently resides slightly southwest of Boston.
