I’m a painter based in Tallahassee, Florida. I currently teach at Florida State University and Valdosta State University, and I’m the Artist in Residence at 621 Gallery. My work draws on both timeless religious iconography and modern commercial design. I’m interested in why humans are compelled to depict animals. I lived in Shanghai for two years (one as a child and one as an adult) which influenced my work, as did my time painting creatures for floats at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans.
