“All of his work starts with the hands-on approach of an artist who, at the start of the process, scratches it all out with a pencil. His figures and forms come from the head through the hand and onto the paper in an organic process. The work is about action and style and the story of the characters’ lives just before and just after the image viewed. The figures imply movement and the sharp angle of cool available to rock gods and getaway men, action agents in the fire, and fashion plates in repose. The frame of the images can act as a window to a world on the move, just behind the surface of the painting, the garment, the print surface. But you’re going to have to get moving if you hope to catch up with it. And you might want to pack some heat.”
