In mere weeks, Left 4 Dead fans will be getting fully acquainted with the new cast of rescue-seeking Survivors. It probably won’t be a final farewell to Louis, Francis, Bill and Zoey, however their time as the franchise stars is certainly ending. Here’s my tribute to the best zombie video game EVER.

On the newsstands across southern Connecticut this week are the Election ’08/Halloween editions of the New Haven Advocate and Fairfield County Weekly newspapers, both featuring this cover illustration by Todd Umbarger. The presidential candidates become characters from the Wizard of Oz, with an appearance by flying monkey Joe Lieberman.

For almost three years I’ve been excoriating American political culture in my cartoon series “The Wisdom of Bush.” Today I’m proud to announce my 300th edition, on the belittling of community activism at the GOP convention. Raised in rural Western Connecticut by two small-town politicians , I’ve always had an interest in government and ridiculing anything produced by it. I began political cartooning because I found myself developing concepts too frequently to create a full-color digital illustration for each. With a looser, black-and-white style I can confront each day’s breaking events with speed: http://www.toddumbarger.blogspot.com/
