"The Laborer and the Nightingale" is one of Aesop’s fables. He happened to come back from a 2600 year slumber just to prompt Alexis McQuilkin to co-opt his words and turn them into a zine, complete with cut paper illustrations.

Previously, Aesop brought you such classic hits as "The Ants and the Grasshopper," "The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing," and "The Tortoise and the Hare," plus some 600-odd other fables. Alexis McQuilkin, on the other hand, is new to the fable circuit, so she can only boast a knack for picture-making and fancy writing.

This zine is quarter-sized, 23 pages long, with a heavy cardstock sky blue cover. Just like you like it.

Remember: every fable is a lesson learned; you’ll have to read it to find out.

You can buy it for just $3 at www.candybandit.com/buy.html
